At the heart of AlbanianMom.com is a woman who believes that culture is not just something you inherit—it’s something you pass on.
Meet Besa Kosova—author, poet, home cook, educator, and lifelong storyteller. Born in the soulful city of Pejë, Kosovo, and now living in Mount Dora, Florida, Besa carries the spirit of Albania with her in everything she does.
From the time she was a child, Besa understood the quiet magic of words. At just eight years old, she declared she would one day be a writer—not out of ambition, but out of instinct. She knew that words, like food, could nourish. They could preserve memories. They could create bridges across oceans and generations.
And so she wrote—poems about peace, journals full of dreams, and eventually, books that would speak to the hearts of both children and adults alike.
But Besa’s stories didn’t end on paper. They sizzled in the kitchen, where her mother—her first teacher—showed her how love can be folded into dough and stirred into stews. Even in times of hardship, her family cooked with pride and purpose. That love inspired her celebrated cookbook, The Best of Albanian Cuisine, a five-year labor of heart that preserves the flavors of her homeland for generations to come.
From that same love, AlbanianMom.com was born.

She is the founder of My One School Inc., a non-profit working to build schools and provide education to underserved children around the world. She also leads Save a Girl Child and serves as Executive Director of Child Literacy Inc., continuing her mission to uplift others through knowledge and kindness.
